The Pro Tune
The Pro Tune is the most comprehensive service that Salty Ski Service offers, and is built to address any significant damage, delamination, bumps, gouges, or other concerns. This is also a great option to get your skis or board ready for the season.
What goes into a Pro Tune?
Out of the full list of services, the Pro Tune is the only one not done on-site. We pick your skis or board up and bring them into the shop for the full service including:
Base Repair and Stone Grind: Fill all base welds and P-tex any gouges, and grind your bases to remove any bumps back to flat.
Edge Sharpen: sharpen your ski or board edge to factory specifications and to your preference
Base Structure: Apply a base structure - a small, evenly spaced pattern of grooves and channels in your base - to help with water and snow dispersion and restore your glide
Hand Wax: A high-quality hand wax to hydrate your base and ensure a smooth ride
Things to Know
-
Salty Ski Services is partnered with 7even Skis, here in Salt Lake City, to address any significant damage that can not be addressed in the mobile ski shop on site. This may include damage such as significant delamination or warping of the bases beyond what is able to be addressed through a base grind.
-
We are happy to take a look at your skis or board to assess the damage, but generally speaking, a pro snowboard tune should be considered in the following scenarios:
The core of your ski or snowboard is exposed (i.e. you can see a different material from the typical base exposed in a gouge or scratch)
There are significant bumps or warping on the base of your skis or snowboard
It has been more than a season since you have received a ski tune
-
Should we need to take your skis offsite, we work with our partner 7even Skis to get your gear back to you in a timely fashion. Typically, this is anywhere between 2-3 day turn around time.
Don’t worry - we will pick up your skis, and provide delivery of fully tuned skis once the service is complete.
